Will this game have sidequest like the regular western rpg's? and is it linear or can you go free roaming?

There are supposed to be quite a bit of side quests with most of the achievements earned by doing the sidequests

hehe cool, I allways do as many sidequest as I can, but getting achievements for them is even better

Guess I'll be picking up the strategy guide, then. I just love going through big RPGs with a nice fat guide, it authenticates the experience somehow.

There is alot of sidequests in lost odyssey you cant imagine.
